A great night was had by all at the Dullingham Boot Public House for the 2010 East Anglian Area awards Dinner. Well done to Mel Deacon and Amy Stennett for organising the bash.
A few awards held over from the season were given out last night.
Top female rider at Higham went to Kelly Smith.
Top male rider at the same course went to Harry Fowler.
The award winners were:
Leading owner/trainer/rider went to Andrew Pennock.
The leading mare award in the area went to Mid Div And Creep and her owners Karen and Tony Exall.
The Sarah Sheppard award to the young rider went to Edward Turner.
The groom of the year award went to Bridget and Gina Andrews.
Top male rider on number of wins including those gained outside the area went to James Owen. Louise Allen won the equivalent ladies award mainly down to the great run of Joe Turner's horses recently.
The East Anglian male jockey on points gained in the area went to Rupert Stearn and the ladies equivalent award went to Gina Andrews.
The top lady novice rider was Bridget Andrews and the male equivalent was Ben Rivett.
Finally for some reason only known to himself, I won the Geoffrey Sale Shield which came as a complete surprise as I only went there on the premise that I was presenting the groom of the year award.
All being well I'll post results up for next season and I look forward to running a new horse as Lee Gap Fair has been retired to the hunting field.

A very well deserved award to you Ray, you are a star at making sure EA results and information is delivered quickly and with a real knowledge for the sport in East Anglia (and beyond!). Good luck with finding a new horse for next season and thank you once again for all the updates and previews. The awards dinner was very well organised and a fun evening.
