Generally castigated after every Bank Holiday Monday, let us look at the facts:-
Mill Five Acre S.P. 2/1, available for plenty at 3/1 Parkinson S.P. Evens, available for plenty at 7/4 The Painkiller S.P. 4/1 , available for plenty at 8/1 Jazz Attack S.P. 4/1, available for plenty at 11/2 & 5/1 Mid Div & Creep S.P. 2/5, very heavily backed at 4/6 & 8/13 Belevard S.P. 2/1, available for plenty at 3/1
For some reason the layers bet to 0% marginns at best odds and that probably accounts for the lack of criticism from the usual quarters.
I would like to know how the Tote paid out on the various winners. It would be a tremendous feat if they beat the S.P's, and a miracle if they topped the Bookmakers best odds.
It should also be noted that this "belly buster" meeting was only attended by 11 Bookmakers, who for the record, each paid additional money to the Hunt so as they (the Hunt) did not go short. Clearly the prospect of Bookmaking in the Area is not a street paved in gold anymore.
This of course followed the attendance of just five Bookmakers at the previous meeting.
Now , on a more jocular note, could someone tell me what the Tombola Stand's profit margin/over round was and what did the food stalls bet to ? Might I suggest the food stalls bet to over 300% ? ............... Why no complaint there then ?
